PUBLIC NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF STUDENT RECORDS
EL PASO GRIDLEY C.U.S.D. 11 known prior to consolidation as
EL PASO C.U.S.D. #375 and GRIDLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT #10
Notice is hereby given that in accordance with the Illinois School Student Records Act and the Illinois Administrative Code, El Paso Gridley CUSD #11 intends to destroy certain student records. This includes student permanent records for individuals who graduated, transferred, or permanently withdrew in or before the school year 1965 and temporary records for those who graduated, transferred, or permanently withdrew in or before the school year 2019.
The purpose of the destruction of records is to protect the student from improper and unauthorized disclosure of confidential information contained within the file. Please note that certain special education records may be needed by the student, parent or guardian for social security benefits or other purposes.
Student Permanent Records:
Permanent records contain core information like identifying details, academic transcripts, and attendance. They are kept for a minimum of 60 years after a student leaves the school. Destruction of permanent records for the noted class(es) will start on or after September 30, 2025.
Student Temporary Records:
Temporary records include information such as family background, test scores, psychological reports, extracurricular activities, and awards. These records are retained for at least 5 years after a student leaves the school. Destruction of temporary records for the noted class(es) will begin on or after September 30, 2025.
Right to Request Records:
Former students aged 18 or older have the right to request a copy of their records before the scheduled destruction date.

Requests must be received by September 1, 2025. Please include the student’s full name, date of birth, and last year of attendance.
If no request is received by the deadline, it will be assumed that consent for destruction has been given.
